Almond Milk, Cinnamon and Honey Porridge

This super easy breakfast recipe tasted so good and suited the cold weather out of my window perfectly. I have been meaning to try almond milk for a long time and I was so pleased to find that it is really delicious. Now I'm on the hunt for more recipes to use almond milk in so if you have any recommendations let me know!

Ingredients

1 small cup of porridge oats
1 small cup of water
1 small cup of almond milk
1 tsp of cinnamon
A few drizzles of organic honey

Using the method of 1 cup of oats to 2 cups of liquid means that you will always have perfect porridge.  Add the oats, water and almond milk to a small saucepan and turn the hob up high until the liquid is bubbling slightly then turn the heat right, right down. Add the cinnamon and leave to cook away until the oats are cooked, the longer you can cook them on a low heat the better. I once read a porridge recipe that suggested cooking them over night in the coolest oven in an Aga, most people don't have Agas though so this method works fine. Once done drizzle over the honey and eat piping hot.

I don't really believe in rushing porridge, cooking it quickly or in the microwave. To me its just one of those things that has to be done properly.
