Dinner and Drinks

I don't often get dressed up but when I get the chance to spend time doing my hair and makeup and pop on a beautiful dress I really relish the process. A shock to the geordie girl inside me when I moved to London over four years ago was how casually everyone seemed to dress when going out in the evening. I hail from Newcastle where most ladies really go to town on their outfits and spend their enter Saturday afternoons getting ready, I certainly did just that when I was (a lot) younger. Having an excuse to get spruced up for a night of cocktails and dinner in Central London was a welcome break from my usual Dr Martens boots and mom jeans down the pub.

I was kindly offered to try out a few luxurious pieces from Chic by Choice and Silent Assembly. Chic by Choice is a dress hire website that allows women to access the most breathtaking designer dresses for whatever occasion they may need to feel extra glamorous for. I love Self Portrait dresses and I was so excited to be able to try a few of their pieces. I also was kindly gifted a beautiful bra and pair of knickers by Silent Assembly which are the most comfortable underwear items I've ever worn.

Both of the dresses I tried from Chic by Choice were so beautiful but my absolute favorite was the Black Lace Cutout Dress. The cut of the dress seemed to suit my shape really well and I felt so pretty wearing it. After having a little photo shoot myself, my best friend Erica and my boyfriend Simon headed to the perfect place for a glamorous evening out, cue Brasserie Zedel. Brasserie Zedel boasts an amazing cocktail lounge, cabaret room and beautiful restaurant, you must go if you live in London as It's just like stepping into the pages of The Great Gatsby.
