An Alternative Wedding Guest Outfit
This weekend Simon and I are off to celebrate one of our friend's wedding in Central London. So far it's our only wedding of the year, unlike most people I have avoided the wedding craziness that can pounce on people between the ages of 25-40. I have one friend who attended seven last summer! It's our first wedding since Simon and I got married and I'm so excited to be on the other side of it all, no stress, how lovely.
This whole outfit was kindly given to me from
and I think it makes a wonderful alternative to the dresses I always wear to weddings. I have a wide leg trouser obsession and my culotte collection is totally out of hand but
are unlike anything else I have in my wardrobe. It's great to finally have a smart pair of trousers I can wear to special occasions, plus the waist is elasticated so it's a win-win.
The black pleated trousers make a lovely swoosh when I move so they have the feeling of a skirt or dress, I think they're a bit edgier than the average wedding guest dress though. As the wedding is in central London and the bride to be is a fashion designer I knew I wanted to wear something a little unexpected, the black and white colour palette and the fact that this outfit feels a little more city appropriate is great! The little bow on the side of
adds just the right amount of feminity, I just know these black courts will be my go to shoes now!
If you're looking for an alternative outfit for a wedding or other special occasion I really recommend investing in a gorgeous pair of trousers. For me, wide leg pants have an almost 1920's or Film Noir vibe to them which can never be a bad thing. I also think sticking to black or block colours definitely has a "cool city wedding" vibe to them so they're a great choice for non-traditional ceremonies.
Thanks to
for gifting me this outfit, I'll be wedding ready in no time. The Coast Spring and Summer collections are online and in stores now so if you need an outfit for an upcoming celebration why not take a look?
