For The Walls

This year I would love to purchase some original artwork for our walls, we have a lot of lovely prints that we've bought from various places but my two favorites are the original pieces we have by our friends.

Above our bed Simon and I have hung a small pen sketch of the both of us by Simon's good friend
and cartoonist Antoine Cossé. In our hall we have the huge original cover art of the first book Simon published by Joe Kessler. I really love both of these pieces, they're by our friends but they're also really really good so it makes sense to have them in our home.

I think as long as you love the piece and it brings you joy there aren't any rules to what you should or shouldn't have hung up in your home. I grew up in a house full of art, it was like a mini gallery. I would really like to create the same sort of feeling in our home. Although I like the prints we have at the moment I think a few of them should be replaced with pieces that we really love.

As you can see from the images above I have quite a clear vision of the sort of art I'd love to have in our home. My aesthetic definitely includes pastel coloured textured paintings, Mid-Century Scandinavian graphic design, and simple inky sketches. The work featured from top left to bottom right are...
